The focus of the SALIENT research trials

The SALIENT team has worked with policymakers, the public and the food industry to co-design trials of interventions. These trials have taken place in diverse settings including canteens, supermarkets, food banks and food delivery apps. We prioritised the interventions that we studied and the settings they were delivered in to fill important evidence gaps and support UK policymaking needs, but our decisions were constrained by the practical challenges of working with partners from the food industry. In the interactive visualisation below you can see the types of interventions that we have focussed on in the SALIENT project, and the settings we have studied them in.
